Handmade in East Tennessee
No Machines. No Shortcuts.
Just a knife and two needles.
I make everything by hand right here in East Tennessee. That doesn’t mean “handmade” with stamps and sewing machines.
First, I start with a hide. I cut the leather with a round knife. Then, I carve my original artwork into the leather with a swivel knife. I bevel and tool by hand, tap-tapping my mallet until the design is complete. Next, I dye and finish the leather. Then I saddle stitch by hand, one knot at a time. Unlike machine-sewn leather items, my stitching will not unravel.
Why do I do all this? Leather isn’t meant to be used and thrown away. I create pieces you’ll use the rest of your life.
