This handcrafted leather bifold wallet features original art. The hand-tooled bat wing and night sky evoke mystery and elegance, and the meticulously hand-dyed background lets you get lost in the midnight scene.
Materials
This wallet features original art, and I only made one. Every material used reflects my priority of making it the best it could possibly be.
Process
Like all my work, this wallet was crafted by hand using only traditional methods.
The Making
The bat wing design began as a sketch, shaped and refined until it felt alive on the page. From there, I carefully cut the leather and hand-tooled every line to bring the art into relief.
To give the wings depth against the night, I brushed the background with a hand-dyed black, creating contrast that makes the design stand out.
Once the tooling and dyeing were complete, I finished the leather and saddle-stitched the wallet entirely by hand—ensuring strength to match its artistry.
