“Come into the peace of wild things,” as Wendell Berry wrote. This leather card holder is an ode to the simple elegance of nature, where there is no worry for tomorrow and no weight beyond the daily act of living.
Materials
This card holder features hand-tooled art, replicated only a few times. It was made to last, and the materials reflect that.
Process
Like all my work, this wallet was crafted by hand using only traditional methods.
The Making
I’ve honed the design of this square leather card holder over time, making sure it’s as nice to use as it is to look at.
After sketching the floral design, I carved it into the perfect piece of leather and tooled it by hand, creating depth and dimension.
I cut and dyed each piece by hand and skived the pieces to ensure the card holder lays flat. I finished the leather with Aussie for long-lasting toughness that can withstand daily use.
Finally, I saddle-stitched the card holder by hand, creating stitching that will never unravel.
